Default D16A6 Automatic?

I'm about to purchase a pretty clean 1990 EX sedan with 196,000 miles on it. It has an automatic transmission. Is it the same auto that the D15B2 came with?

I'd like to know so I can know what to do if it decides to die on me. Seems like a D16A6 automatic would be kind of rare.

the ex always has the a6 but i think those are only stick shift so maybe they did a conversion.

All 88-91 Auto trannies used in the Civic/CRX line were the same... Same gear ratio, same everything. A DX or LX auto tranny would work if that one bit the dust.

Well it's good to know that the 1.5L auto is the same. There are plenty of those still around. and from what I have been told these autos will last awhile for a stock powered car.

The autos last a while, my friend's '89 CRX DX with a JDM D15B and MPFI swap are on the stock auto tranny that has been running for the last 250,000 miles. It leaks, but it does alright. He just makes sure to keep it topped up on fluid.
