should I keep my civic?? or go with??
so it's been quite a while since I have needed anyone's insight pertaining to cars.. but I'm at a crossroad. we'll start at the beginning..
A long long time ago, in a crappy little town in idaho.. lol
anyways, I've always loved cars. honda a little more than most. I have had up to date 30 different cars, between the ages of 18 and currently 24. two S13's, an MKiii supra, 3 mustangs, a nova, a few jeep crawlers.. an 88 ef sedan, an 89 hatch, 3 90 ef sedans, a 91 ef sedan, 90 integra and a 95 prelude... and a handful of other rides. I traded off an 85 lx 5.0 foxbody for my current 90 EF sedan. it's a little dinged, but NO rust and never been modded. so I can start fresh without correcting ebay add ons and such.
at the same time tho I could easily just pick up a dsm supra or whatever. my angle is for a clean, great handling 300hp daily driver.. without dumping endless amounts of cash into it.
so options for the ef are as follows: ls vtec swap, b20 vtec swap, or turbo d series.. all of which will barely get me 250hp without internals lol. I really want to keep the sedan.. I'm just having hangups justifying the cost it will take to net 300whp daily and reliably.. i'm not as well off financially as I once was.. but I do love EF sedans.. so what do you think?? should I just shove some boost thru a b18b and hope I don't nuke it.. or just go with a different platform all together?
edit: maybe go with a vitara build?? been doin some looking all night, and it looks like guys are getting 300whp pretty regularly with eagles and vitaras.. huh, might have answered myself

If you're looking into 300 horses I'd definitely get enternals.....regaurdless if you're going to go for boosting, valve springs and different piston rods and ARP bolts. That would be a awesome build for a sedan whichever route you wanted to go but you say you don't have the finances as you once did. I don't know what kind of budget you have but you may wanna think of lowering your hp goal. Just my two cents....I wish you the best of luck with the build bruh. Either Hmotors or passwordJDM (can't remember which one) has some decent deals on B series and D's are cheap. Or you could always do the junkyard scan every once and a while. There's some great gems just waiting to be found there....if you get to it before everyone else.
I think you should start here.

Then get whatever car you want.
If you ask m y opinion, I will flat out tell you something terrible and you will regret the day you were born for taking my advice for what car will make you happy.

You don't need any top end work for 300whp... and a stock LS with ARP head studs and (just for insurance) ARP rod bolts will support 300whp. You have a lot of learning to do.
As stated above... This type of thread is against the rules and honestly - it's your life, time, and money. You are a big boy now so do what you want (unless of course you are still livig with Mommy, then ask her what you should do).
