ECU help, 98 Accord Auto with H22A auto.
Hello,
Anyone out there with an 98-01 Accord Auto that has swap in a H22A auto?
What did you do with the ECU?
Here is the info I have so far.
US Accord use an internal TCM build into the existing ECU and can not be chipped or re map to an H22A map.
JDM Accord and Auto H22A ECUs all have external TCM units. This includes Prelude, accord, etc..
Has anyone got this swap working with a correct ECU?
Thanks
Andy

If the H22A transmission you are trying to use is from an earlier model that uses a down shift cable in the later '98-'02 Accord you are SOL. These are non compatible as the later 98-'02 cars are completely computer controlled and have additional sensors that the computer of the later model cars need to 'see' in order to correctly shift the transmission.
AFAIK no one has attempted to make the Accord based 90-93, 94-97 transmissions work in the later year cars.
