Default civic experts only did headgasket wouldnt start and now has no power

so i got a 93 civic with a d15b7 heres the story so the car kept overheating diagonsied it as being a head gasket, so i replaced the headgasket been doing this for years so i know whats up, anyways it was a rough start the first time i started it but , then everything went smooth ran good the car sat and idled for 30 minutes and everything was fine started it a couple times after that and started perfect so this morning i started it up and started up fine again ,well after that i finshed everything by reinstalling the p/s pump and hooked the exhaust back up, went to start it up and it keeps struggling to start will fire but wont start i got spark and fuel i noticed white smoke coming out the intake when i would stop trying to start it im stumped only thing that was differnet from the whole thing is the crankshaft pulley broke so i put a d16y7 pulley on it any info will help

hows the timing? if they Y7 pulley is larger than the B7 pulley it will throw off your timing. Also, how's your spark? All 4 cylinders sparking?

it happens a lot...go check your timing

and no, my old B7 jumped 3 teeth before because i guess the belt was loose, the car wouldn't even start.

base timing for the B7 is different than the Y7 (16deg vs 12), so adjusting the timing with a light will be off because you have the wrong pulley on there. but it shouldn't affect you starting up or not.

i don't think it has a major effect on it, but the 2 pulley's are different sizes which means the harmonic balance is off and it'll eat your bearings :/

yeah, see if that head is warped as well...if it is, i got a Y7 head sitting in my garage that just needs to be taken apart/cleaned/reassembled and it'll run like new...

so i got it started and running idles good runs smooth but has no power when i try to take off it just bogs down and want to die wont move and when i let off the gas it idles smooth again so i got a couple questions first off could that d16y7 pulley just be to much weight and throwing everything off or does it have to do something with the timing???? btw checked the compression and got 150 across the board on a cold engine

no the pulley wont affect it. ignition timing needs to be set farther then whats marked on that y7 pulley because it only shows 12* u need 16*.

i know if you have a vacuum leak it won't give your car any bottom end and it'll have an erratic idle
