Default weird coolant leak in b18b1

Ok, so i parked my car today and saw smoke coming from the bay, i shut the car off and i popped the hood just to see coolant pouring out of my water pump. I let it sit for 2 hours and then went back out to see what was wrong. I filled it back up with water and started the car, didn't see any more leaks or anything. My radiator took about 3/4 a gallon of water, so it wasn't completely empty. I'm going to replace my water pump tomorrow but what my question is "what could have leaked and then just stopped?"

btw, my car is a 93 Civic with a b18b1 swap.

any help is appriceated!

oh yeah, i did use the search and i even googled, i found nothing related to Integra motors.

Could be that the seal is only leaking on longer drives. My wife's Accord just did that. It wouldn't leak on a trip to the store but on a longer trip it would leak.

yeah, that seems right! I drove to McDonalds right down the road and didn't see anything, then when i drove around for about 20 minutes after that then went to work is when i noticed it! I did get a chance to feel around under the water pump and the engine's previous owner used some RTF sealant on it (i could feel it clumped up under the pump). That means it leaked before and he took it off just to RTF it...well, looks like it's time to fix it.

Thanks for ur response!

it might not have leaked before, some techs like to put sealant on it when they install a new pump.
