97 Accord defroster not working, wipers & windows moving slow
So I bought this 97 Accord shell like 3 years ago and finally got it on the road this week after an H22 swap. I have zero front window defroster air but the heat still works on some of the other functions but not very well. When I bought the car it didn't have any of the heating components or climate controls. I put all the needed components back under the dash including the AC piece but I dont have an AC compressor or any of the under-hood lines bc I wanted to do away with the AC. Could it be that I bought a bad blower motor, didn't install a crucial vent or could it be bad controls? I've read that the solder on the circuits can go bad. I know I hooked everything up right and I'm getting power to everything but no air is coming out of the defroster at all. The air for the other functions is also definitely weaker than normal. My wipers and all window motors also move really slow if this may have anything to do with it. I cleaned all the grounds and made sure the wiring was done right bc I used one of the 1000 page Honda shop manuals. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.
One detail I forgot to add, when I push the buttons to change the direction of where I want the heat, it sounds like it isn't doing anything. The heat continues to come out the front vents no matter what position I select.
I've searched and cant seem to come up with a solid answer. Can anyone even take a shot a what they think it might be?
Have you checked the mode control motor?
From the left/DRIVERS side floor board, look up and to the center of the dash, you will see the linkage and that. Try changing the air direction (defrost, defrost/floor, ect) and give the linkage a gentle tug/push and see if it frees up and then moves....if so, lube it and hope that is all......

I tried pushing the different buttons and trying to move the levers underneath. Nothing would budge underneath at all. They looked pretty greased to me. So I guess I either need a new mode selector or the solder on the controls board is messup up?
That picture lists the way to test and prove if the motor itself is good or bad. You don't use the buttons, you need to apply your own power and ground to isolate it from the rest of the circuit.
Unplug it and run a wire directly from the battery to terminal #1 on the motor. Run a 2nd wire from ground to terminal #7.
After that, take a 3rd wire and touch from #7 to terminal 2, then 3, etc.
If the motor doesn't move, it's bad- replace it.
If the motor moves, you've proved it works and the problem is either in the harness or the dash buttons.
A power probe would make this test extremely quick and easy, but running your own jumper wires is also easy and shouldn't take more than 20 minutes.

Thanks seanbev24. That info helped alot. I ran the test and the motor works great on all positions when I applied power to it. Right now I have it set to my defrost so I can atleast defrost my windshield. So does this more than likely mean my climate controls are bad somewhere? I found a used one on Ebay for $36 and I think I'm gonna try it. Any way I can test the controls bc I dont think it's my wiring? Thanks for the help.
Sorry poorman212...you were incredibly helpful and thanks for taking the time to post those pics and the older ones. Between your pics and Sean's explanation I'm one step closer to figuring this out. Now with the newer pics you posted, I think I will figure this out and it's mostly thanks to you. I appreciate it.
