Default Burning oil too quickly

I own a 2002 civic(d17a2) and most recently I ran into a problem... I burned 4.2 quartz of oil in 3 months... I know its not a leak, or anything I've seen. The only thing left it could be would be the valve seats, but I only have 84 k miles on my car... and there is no way I can fix it myself or pay to have them fixed... any suggestions on what I can do... or any other possibilities on what the problem may be? Thanks.

That's quite a bit of oil. You're positive that there are no external leaks?

How do your spark plugs look? Have you removed and inspected them?

It could also be your piston rings, just as a forewarning. You'll want to run a leakdown test, to try and locate where your oil is going.

The spark plugs are fine, and my car runs fine. I'm getting a leak down test done this Saturday.
I'm kind of new to cars, how much compression should there be in each, isn't it 10-15%?
Also another thought came to mind, could the pcv vavle be putting too much pressure on the crank case?

It could be a PCV valve, but I'd doubt it would cause as much oil consumption as you currently are displaying.

Okay, thanks... and I'm not sure... I'm going to my grandfathers house to do it because he has the proper tools.
I'll keep you all updated.

How's your gas mileage look? I had my rings go and my mileage suffered noticeably and I say I was only loosing about 2.5 to 3 quarts for every oil change.
