please tell me if my itr gearbox LSD or not ( hopefully it is !! )

i jacked up the car , i span one wheel the other fucken wheel didnt spin !!!!

then i started up the car when the car still on the jack , and both wheels span by itself ??

my itr has ABS

and on the gearbox it says LSD , but its not like my crx , my crx when i jack it up and if i spin one wheel , the other wheel spins as well ( no abs )

if its a type-r than it more than likely has an LSD

 

yes it is type r gearbox
on the gearbox says J4D LSD

I have an itr lsd. When I spin one tire the other spins also. I thought with lsd the tire was supposed to spin the opposite way, but I have never seen what happens when you do this to a FWD LSD car. I did this yesterday while hunting rattles.

With my gsr tranny both wheels spin very slowly when the engine is started and the tires are off the ground.

 

so mine isnt LSD ????




my crx gearbox if i spin one wheel , the other wheel spins to the opposite way

but my itr only 1 wheel spins, but when i start the engine and the front tyres off the ground, both wheels spin automatically , and its pretty fast too

If you installed the tranny, when you had the axles out, could you see through the diff? The open diffs have a pin in the middle.

can u actually tell if it has lsd by looking the structure of the gearbox from outside ?

Just floor it in the middle of a tight turn. You'll either feel the lsd working, or you'll hear mad wheelspin if it's broke.

 

wtf are u talking about.. spanning? look if drive wheels are up in the air and both are spinning then thats a LSD, if only one wheel spins then its an open differential.

has nothing to do with abs...

you have an LSD man BUT it only works under POWER. Try and do this jack the car back up put it in gear THEN try and spin the tires

This might be why my wheels spun the wrong way when I had my car up this weekend. I found another website tonight that said lsd's in general may behave differently in neutral than when in gear.

 

thats mean no lsd. your new tranny sound like LSD tranny to me.

 

if u spin 1 wheel the other wheel goes to the OPPOSITE direction , it can be because it has 1 way LSD , cant it ?

 

no, if the other wheel spin opposite direction, thats mean its open diff.

 

if he had a 2-way the other wheel would spin though

What about with a Quaife? Whitch way will the wheels spin?

 

From the Helm manual: Jack up the front wheels, put the transmission in gear, spin one wheel, if the other wheel spins in opposite direction then the LSD is in working order.

This is for an ITR transmission

If your transmission doesn't do this then it is either defective or it is not equiped with an LSD
