i started the rex yesterday afternoon, cold start (after a weak or so, +or-) and i heard a screaching noise. so ok must be a belt or something, pop the hood and is coming from the left side, hmm ok, i put my hand on the dizzy and it feels that is coming from there, i get closer and i determined that it was, it was intermitent and only lasted a few minutes. any thoughts? this is unheard of for me plus it was loud noise, could it be moisture probably, its been raining alot and its humid out.

 

Cold start+week with out running= oil all the way in the bottom of oil pan? ??

 

Your distributor is on the left side?

 

he probably meant left as in looking at it from the front

 

im sure he meant that i would just say the bearing on the dizzy didnt got dry and it squealed

 

i know. im just messing with him.

OP, pull off the dizzy and spin it by hand see if the sound is still present.

 

Sometimes the screw for the rotor comes loose inside the distributor
