B18 Crankshaft Dowel Pin: remove or drill hole in Flywheel
I built a fresh engine (B18B1) for my DA. I was swapping over the transmission and noticed that the new crankshaft has a dowel pin in it. My flywheel does not have a hole for it?
Has anyone seen this? How did you get around it?
I am considering trying to pull it out or drilling the flywheel.
Thanks in advance for the input/help.

Pictures please. But I'm not sure if either option would be that great of an idea, as they would throw off the balance of either the crankshaft or the flywheel
Here is a picture. It is an Eagle Crankshaft. I have two old crankshafts that have a hole in the same spot, but no dowel. My old flywheel and my new flywheel do not have a hole for a dowel.
Thanks for the input. I ended up getting some vise grips and pulling it out. I put the engine in its new home. I will post again if there are any problems with it.
Looking forward to an update on this. Curious to know if removing that pin throws the crank out of balance. Make note of any vibrations on first start up.

Exactly why I wouldn't do it in the first place. Especially being an eagle crank. That's a lot of money to not be sure about how it's gonna work out.
