97 Accord LX F22B2 Governor?
Hey guys, just wondering about something. I was driving my car last night and came on to a good straight stretch so decided to see how the old girl could pull. She picked up pretty good, but once we got near 190km/h she cut out and I still had a lot of road and RPM's to go.
So I'm wondering how I would go about removing the governor on it? I did a little bit of reading and seen something about having to do it through a computer. I have a computer but I just need instructions on how to do it.
Anyways, if anyone could help me out that'd be great!
Thanks

Ok so first of all I don't think that you are ever going to be in such a hurry to be going 190km/h. Not the smartest thing to do with a 14 year old car.
And to answer your question, you can't reflash those ECU's as they have a ROM. The automatic ECU's are limited to 115MPH and the manual ones are not limited.

Ok thanks. My dad has a 98 Accord EX F23 VTEC, I had that car going 217, just wondering if there's supposed to be a governor in those, just curious more than anything
Ok wait, I just re-read gogydm's post, I'm not sure I completely understand what you mean when you say the manual ECU's are not limited. My car is a manual car so not sure what that means for me.
The F22B2 Manual Accord also has speed and rev limiters. The 94-97 Accord EX (EX-R) 4 cylinder F22B1 Accord does not have a limiter.
There is no way for you to remove the limiter on a stock Accord ECU (Computer). When people refer to your computer they are not talking about your desktop or laptop computer. They are talking about the computer, or electronic control module/unit (ECM/ECU) inside your car. There are other Honda ECU's that can be modified, aka chipped, and tuned via special software. That being said, there is no need to go over 190km/h on public streets.
If you are serious and you want to take your car to a track. You should look more into Honda tuning. There is a lot of info available online to research and get you started.
