I've haven't engaged in a stoplight drag in a couple of years...
but this focker in a red M3 pissed the hell out of me today...
on my way home, i was cruising along the wide, smooth blvd and all of a sudden this m3 making a left turn onto the blvd just guns it up to my bumper...

i was like wtf, so i pay him no mind
he does this for the next 5 lights...so at this point i'm hella pissed
so at the next red light he pulls next to me
the light turns green...no cars ahead of me so i go for it...

pretty even through 3 gears...
by the end of third gear he was a car length ahead of me and i let off...

didn't want to race, ended up racing and loss

13 second cars. very quick, and once rolling, the Sequentials are HELLA quick

 

They are pretty good. The TQ will get you everytime...but your not even stock. Did you get a bad launch?

They shouldn't be THAT bad...

Advice: I always ignore the ricers all the time. Let them keep doing it and they will just get pissed and leave. Maybe they'll do a ricer flyby and crash into the median or something.

 

if it was an e36 (the 240hp) it shouldnt have 'raped' you per se, but they are definately a hair quicker, stock for stock

They run about 13.9~14.1 at around 99-101mph. Pretty snappy, and the torque(3.2L peaks at 3900RPM) could definitely be something to watch out for in a peaky ITR if you are not in your powerband.

he got the jump on me bc i was indecisive

maybe he wasn't stock either...

 

my b18c hatch has 'killed' numerous e36 m3 in a highway environment

 

thats cool, perhaps the M3 wasnt either, I/E/chip, ~255-260hp, euro MAF or some **** like that, 270-275 is bolt on-able, and cams etc are around too.

owned a E36 (240hp) M3 at the drag strip by almost half a second.

 

E36 M3's are faster than ITR on the freeway... their gearing is awesome and wide powerband is pretty nice. A buddy of ours raced bone stock E36 M3 against Toda B-ed ITR... about even.

 

That would certainly be entertaining!

Some booger-eating dickweed in an E46 M3 (yes, the new one) kept trying to race me the other night. He'd pull up next to me at the stoplights, rev, and stare at me while I pretended he didn't exist. I'd pull away from the lights so slow I was close to bogging, and do 30 mph in a 45 just hoping the obnoxious ********** would go away, but he wouldn't.

I was really wishing for something to throw at his shiny new wreck-to-be.

E36 M3's are pretty fast because of the tourqe. If you don't launch hard they will beat you everytime as the M's get about the same time if you launch them at high rpm or medium rpm. R's will usually be much slower if accelerating with a regular start. You really need to launch at high rpm to beat one even if you are Toda cammed. I have a M roadster and it is slightly faster than the E36 M3's because it is lighter but I have beaten all types of R's with it because of the tourqe. The close ones are with Toda/Jun etc ... cammed cars that have launched at high rpm and were ligntened.
