Default Weird shifting issue

First off, I would like to introduce myself as a new member of this forum. Hi everyone.

I have a 91 crx si (manual transmission) with about 120,000 miles on her. After she get warmed up; about a half hour or so this proplem starts happening intermittedly. I will come to a stop, put it in first gear to go, shift into second, and it will slow rev or kinda bogg down as if it went into third or fourth gear instead, then when I get up to speed and shift from second into third gear it will high rev and act as if I downshifted from third gear into second gear? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Gary

Your description is horrid but it sounds like your clutch is slipping.

91 crx si,1.6 i believe, no mods. after a stop, I put the car in first gear, it takes off normal, I shift into second gear and it drives like i shifted into third or fourth gear, revs come down and accelerates slow, when i get it up to speed to upshift, I shift into third and it revs high, and nose dives as if I had downshifted from third to second. The clutch is fine, its not reving as if the clutch is in or slipping, you feel it. It is like it is going in the wrong gear. Not sure how to explain it any better. This doesn't happen all the time, it is intermitted and always after about a half hour of driving.

Your problem is unlike anything I have ever heard of in about 5 decades of working on vehicles. The only half way logical thing would be your shift linkage/shift fork tabs/selector is worn or broken. Obviously since you say it's a Si, it should have a tachometer. What speed does your tach read vs the speedometer when all this is happening? The biggest kicker being "after it warms up"...

Please tell me you are not a troll.

PS - You are positive you know the shift pattern correct?

Oh so it would still work correct until it warms up or only on occasion act up? Your comment makes no sense. If it was physically on wrong it would do it 100% of the time...

no it wouldnt work 100 percent should have sepcified, it would give you symtoms you are having but the linkage is solid and only goes on one way. could be a bent shift fork once it heats up it flexs more or something. also take aloook at the shift linkage bushings maybe they are just completely bad. <edit>

Threads that are not acceptable in main CRX/EF Civic Tech forum.
1. FS (For Sale)/WTB (Would Like To Buy or Where To Buy) or spamming ads in random posts
2. Bench Racing/Can I win a race against "car x"/What will my car do in the quarter mile, Street racing questions- Can Car X with X motor beat Car Y with Y motor?
3. No Meet Posts without mod approval
4. "What should I sell my CRX/Civic for?" or "How much is this CRX/Civic worth?" or "Is this a good deal/price?" "What would these parts be worth?"
5. "Which one is better EF or X car" or "EF; X car". Should I trade/sell/buy Car X for Car Y. "Would you buy this car?".
6. Negative comments/replies that do nothing but add post count and stir people up, swearing, swearing at each other or name calling, and no racial comments.
7. Threads with no technical information.
8. No bumping
9. Post whoring to make post count
10. Open Polls will be left open for the benefit of the original poster. If the open poll is abused and unwarranted selections are created those that created and voted for those selections will be addressed.

I think all should stay silent until the op chimes in again. As n3va3eva stated, the op could just be a troll creating a useless thread

"Obviously since you say it's a Si, it should have a tachometer. What speed does your tach read vs the speedometer when all this is happening"

I haven't driven it in a while and I never really looked at this as it was happening. Actually it is my wifes car and I just took it to work the other day to see if I could figure out what she was complaining about. I will take it today and try to get them figures for you. Hopefully it happens today, if it does, I will post them tomorrow.
Yes I know the shift pattern. I've been driving stick shifts since 1985, I'm not missing shifts. When I am in second, I'm not getting up to third or fourth gear speeds, if that is what you are thinking. Im not power shifting, this happens under normal driving conditions.
Im not a troll.
i looked at this thread today and seen it had like 18 replies, I thought, "great, maybe someone knows whats wrong!" Then I read the replies
Thanks again,
Gary

I didn't do any mechanical work to the linkage. Last year I had a new clutch installed but this just started happening, and this year a new gas tank. No other work or mods have been done to the car.

Well, the cel always comes on after about 5 minutes of driving, Honda said it is not throwing a code though, they offered to put a new computer in it to get the light to go out for about $1100.00, lol, I declined and just deal with it. It is my understanding the the cel's are mostly for emission problems, such as oxygen sensors, etc. This is more of a mechanical issue.

He already said that "it's not slipping".

OP - No, I am not thinking anything like what you were trying to imply. Do you realize how fast you would be going if you were redlining in fourth gear? Either way thanks for half of the story... What are the engine codes? It's hard to help people that can't help themselves.
