Default EF Surges...

My EF surges while I have the gas pedal depressed. Basically the car will accelerate, loose power, buck and then gain power and repeat so long as the accelerator is depressed. It sounds like a fuel issue or clogged injector, but i'm not sure. Before I got the car running, one of the injectors was stuck closed since the car had not run in over 3 years. It also had 3 year+ old gas in the car as well. The engine in the car now is a d16z6. Thanks.

Replace fuel filter, cheap/easy and either way it probably needs it with that 3 year old gas being run through it.

This is just one of a million suggestions that will come your way.

Already did that. And ran Seafoam thru the tank. Changed plugs, wires, and cleaned the injectors.

Why didn't you just drain the gas? Very high possibility the fuel turned to varnish in that time... Seafoam won't do a thing for bad gas.

I was thinking the same thing, but it had less than a 1/4 tank and I thought I could get away with it. Anyone point me to a DIY for removing the fuel pump in a 89 hatch?

It's easy. Just lay down under the car, loosen up the nuts (2 of them), then lift up on the bolts/straps assembly that is holding the tank up. Have a jack placed under it to support/balance it. Slowly lower the tank while also removing/unplugging the plugs on the drivers side of it. Watch out as there are a couple hardlines attached as well IIRC. With an empty tank it shouldnt take more than 20mins the first time honestly. The first time I did it with a completely 100% full tank it took like an hour. Complete bitch to do cause I wanted to be cheap and save the gas since I had JUST put it in.
