Default Header Question

So I have an 07' Si with a DC Sport race header, AEM CIA and Hondata Reflash Pro. for some reason over the last 6 months is sounds like I have a exhaust leak. I thought the bolts that connect the exhaust and the header together might be loose, but after jacking the car up I found that they are tight. My only other though is that there is this mesh tube that is part of the header that it might be leaking from. here is a pic of it:

Any one have this issue too?
Thanks for any help.

That mesh tube is a pain, I have seen that fail on other cars, what you might try doing is eliminate it, but the way it looks in your pic is going to be a big job.

It is designed to allow engine movement so it won't vibrate thru the exhaust system.

Have you tried wrapping it maybe some header wrap will help.

i had a similar problem. when it took the cat back off the gasket crumbled to pieces. it looked fine from just lookin at it but when i unbolted the catback from the header/downpipe/testpipe (whatever you wanna call it) the gasket just fell to pieces. after replacing the gasket i didnt have the issue any more. may wanna check that. its a way easier fix.

Dc's are notorious for leaking at the flex pipe. Skunk2 FTW.

Good Idea on the gasket, I'll try that first.

Thanks.
