02 sensor wire cut

Default 02 sensor wire cut

does anyone know if it would have any effect on sensor if you cut the wires on it and extened them to reach. ............ 92 dx

This is done all the time. Just make sure you do it properly and you won't have problems.

Depends what your daily driving condition is. You want your o2 sensors for optimum fuel economy without an input from o2 sensor your vehicle will stay in open loop which is when the computer runs off of preset values until it recieves proper readings from th ect, map, ckp, cmp, and o2 then the computer goes into what is called closed loop. Your computer will stay in open loop meaning poor fuel economy and more mechanical wear on your engine.

He's just asking about cutting the wires to extend them, not cutting out the sensor completely.

OP- It's fine, just solder them and use heat shrink
