launching with a 6 puck....
what type of techniques do you guys use? i went to the track last weekend and i cant seem to get the car to launch good. i have a 92 civic hatch with a b16 and bolt ons and im using a clutchnet 6 puck disc with their stage 3 pressure plate....any tips?
its called ditch that 1.6 and get a 1.8
my friend has a bsuxteen in a crx and he has to launch at 5000 or else it bogs hella bad,, and he has it tuned too!
i have a GSR in my 99 HB with the 6 puck clutch, i luanch at 3600 rpm, what i do is this. kinda feathering and kinda dumping. once im staged i let the clutch out really slow untill i feel the clutch start to grab, but not enough to make the car move (yes it would be "slipping it") but it makes everything in your drivetrain tighten up so there isnt as bad of an impact on gears/axles/whatever when you just straight dump it. this method ive used many times with slicks and there is minimal spinage and damn near zero bogging, but i do have a 1.8 ---thats how i launch. check sig for 1/4 times, my 60foots are usually 1.9 and 2.0s

now is it normal for my car to shake really badly during the launch? it feels like wheel hop but im not too sure....its never happened before the clutch install...it feels like a really really bad chatter from the clutch when i do launch it
is it on street tires? its probably wheel hop...set up your suspension better...maybe try slipping the clutch a little...i have a 6 puck Hyperclutch in my car and i triied both dumping and slipping...slipping works a little better on street tires
I have a stage 5 clutch master in my 00 Civic SI and it pulls hella hard. I ran a 13.6 on slicks with a built head. I usally launch at around 8,000 with slicks and 6,500 with street tires.
