Default 99 civic ex automatic/manual jdm gsr swap/chipped P06 ECU - Won't rev past 3500 rpm

hey please reply to this post. its a 99 civic ex automatic that I swapped in a manual jdm gsr. the swap was a by the book and its not throwing any codes, converted obd1 but i jumped the ecu to see if any code were keeping it in limp modebut non are being thrown. >>> my car wont rev past 3500rpm. I think its because its in park and hits the in park rev limiter but im not sure. correct me if im wrong. anyways do i have to wire it to think its in drive/park or wire up a toggle switch so when I start it in park I can toggle it into drive so it doesnt hit this rev limiter?

It has nothing do with that. If it starts you've successfully wired the starting circuit, actually if power goes to the starter motor when you turn the key you've successfully completed that part of the swap. You've got another issue somewhere.

The car isn't throwing any codes and my ecu is stock to my gsr and tuned so it can't be in limp mode. I calibrated my tps and it improved the throttle response but still hits like a rev limiter. Iv changed out injectors too alls I can think of is not a big enough fuel pump. The only thing I found broke on the motor to was my speed sensor

My car wouldnt rev pass 3500 and it was due to a faulty wire that got discounted onto the ecu. Wire was for the Oil Pressure just giving ideas.

Does the CEL work?

Is the mechanical timing off by a tooth?

Is the ignition timing set to spec?

What's the fuel pressure? Is the FPR working?

tps and maps are not mixed up i have the wiring diagram. I took off iacv and cleaned it. Couldnt take apart due to what i thought was an allen wrench socket but its more like a pentagon? (anyone know what tool i need?) so couldn't adjust spring inside. iv already swapped my dizzy for another but still ran the same and i checked my wiring to it and it is all correct. possibly ecu problem or wire unplugged somewhere that leads to my ecu. Could be the harness jumper i got as well. I even swapped in my stock d16 ecu and it ran just as shitty hit the same 3500k limit. Will check timing belt, cam gears and fuel pressure on thursday.

I used a paper clip and rerouted the ecu to itself already, read the light sequence and it only threw one code if you can call it that. Blinked for one short and five seconds after that it would blink once short again and on and on over and over. Code blink 1 was oxygen sensor / heated oxygen sensor. Or it was throwing no codes and blinking to show no codes. If the Os2 then ill look there, I wired them up and they get pulse so maybe its a bad o2.

fuel pressure is 40, not the issue, but now the car is running lean. replaced fuse 15 also still not reving up past 4k.I reset my ecu after i wired my o2 again and still nothing has changed. The car sat for about a year befor the swap so with **** gas so maybe a bad fuel filter. cleaning it tomorrow.

Why not mention this in your first post? Give more information about this ECU.

Is it chipped for this setup? I really don't care what was in the DX. You are NOT being clear.

try another ecu (stock p72 would be good) or another chipped ecu . was it a downloaded base map or did somebody actually tune it ?

Again. Not being clear. Is the ECU chipped or tuned for this setup?

I have a question from the first post. If you swapped in a manual how can you be starting the car "in park"? There is no "park" on a manual. It's either in gear or it's not.

the 99 ex was automatic. and to swap in a manual i needed to soder three wires together to trick the car into park mode so i could turn the motor over. i have a manual transmisson in now i can start it without the clutch pressed in as long as its in neutral otherwise my car will pull foward in gear. therefor its in permant park mode or P. Thats how i start it thats what a forum told me to do. The problem must lie in my dizzy, harness, or ecu. because i cant advance the timing anymore than what it is and i need 16 degress give or take a degree or two even after i took the ecu and jumped it to itself with a paper clip, it still wont time right.

This is a sign that the mechanical timing is off by a tooth. Check it.
