Last week i had an ACT 6-puck and Xtreme pp put in as well as spoon flywheel and JDM 4.7FD. I Drove around for about 250 miles to let everything set in good.

Now im starting to get slight gear whine.

I have heard stories about the ATS 4.9 whining but never the jdm. Is this Normal??? Did i not let it break in long enough or something.

Also my shifter seems to be warmer than usual. Im thinking the fluid might be low not sure though. I wont be able to check it till tomorrow.

Anyone have any ideas??

Describe the gear whine please. My JDM FD felt the same as stock, no extra noises.

As for the warm shifter, I think you're imagining things. The shifter is far away from the transmission and any "heat" from the tranny wouldn't ever make it down the linkages for you to feel. The shifter is warm because the exhaust goes right under it.

 

checked fluid level this morning and it was 3/4 quart low - when i pulled the check level bolt off it was completely dry. i called the tranny shop and scheduled to drop it off for them to pull apart and check. im pretty sure a bearing has gone bad or something similar.

car sounds like a sequencial shifter in a rally car. its whining like crazy under acceleration. im sure its something really bad and expensive. Thats my luck!!

my ATS sounds no different than stock, apart from the revs climbing faster

 

got the tranny apart - found out a bearing went bad on the input shaft. No big deal but the car is down till the weekend.
