First off, before anyone says anything. If you have NOT had any experience with rokkor coilovers then don't just reply "Oh they're **** because they're so cheap." That does nothing for me. I'm looking for people who have owned them or know people who have owned them and have some insight on them.

Where are you finding these coilovers? Are they cheap junk on Ebay? From a quick google search it seems like they are. And possibly made by the same manufacturer as Raceland, which are known to be utter garbage.

Your approach to finding suspension is important. How did you find these? Why did you seek them out?

Are you thinking you've found a diamond in the rough?

Some inexpensive coil-over system that no one has discovered and will be the pinnacle of an economic car build?

Or maybe there is a reason no one has heard of them and no one uses them?

I'm going with the latter. But it's your money, too. As cheap as those are I wouldn't put them on my car if you paid me. I saw a few sets on ebay for $300.

Wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them.

Looks like they're made of tinsel.

From what I hear they're Raceland's sister company. A buddy of mine has a friend whos been slammed on rokkors for years and has never had a problem with them. They're got a 3 year warranty. And from what i've researched a few people who have actually bought them (mainly EP3 owners) enjoy them and haven't complained.

Then what are you asking in here for? Sounds like you're going to buy them anyway. Maybe ask yourself how good can they really be for e that low of a price?

I find it interesting that pretty much all of their coilovers for the number of different manufaturers they provide for (Honda, Subaru, BMW, Audi, Mazda, etc...) all cost almost the exact same, $319.

Their description is also funny...

"If you have a wheel offset of greater than 1.5" you MUST use a small spacer or damage may occur to your tire, axle or car.

•The dampening rate of our coilovers also referred to as bound and rebound are based on very fast driving, they are not made for the comfort ride. They are made for the serious tuner or racer that wants superb handling"

How could they tell you what offset to use if they don't know the X amount of other factors about your own personal car? You should only buy these if you plan on driving very fast, as their dampening rate is designed for that..

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. Guys i'm just asking for anyones opinions on them who have ACTUALLY USED THEM. I dont care what you think based on what you read. I would like some facts and i'd like to hear what people have to say about them based on EXPERIENCE. Thanks.

Well, I can't say I've used them or know anyone personally who has (which that in itself speaks loudly to me). But, I'll just say that the facts can be found if you look closely at the manufacturer or simply even their website.

One quick red flag from their site.
Lowering Rate: 1" to greater than 3.75"
Spring Rate: 350P Front and 250P Rear
While the coilovers may very well be able to lower 3.75", this is definitely not a functional 3.75", esp with 350f/250r progressive rate springs.

Sure, Progress says on their site you can lower 3" or w/e, but they sure do make note that their coilovers function properly at a height drop of 1.5". Doesn't mean you can't go a little lower, but hey, that's a sign to me that they've probably done atleast a little testing to come up with that figure.

You're not dropping to 3.75" on a soft 250 rear springs. Front neither. Can you even pick your own rates? So don't let that low low price cause you to buy something you wish you hadn't. You don't need to get anyone's opinions on these. The description of the product tells you everything you need to know.

I'm not dead-set on buying them at all. As i stated in my OP i was just looking to see if anyone had anything to say about them from experience. I've had my eye on progress cs-II's for a while.

At this point, you should seriously consider why 0 Honda owners on the largest Honda forum in the world have not chimed in with a success story about this suspension setup.

My friend has had a set of these on his mk2 Jetta coupe since the spring. She's happy with them and so far so good.

Sure, they're cheap, but she knew that when she got them. They didn't seem exceptionally shoddy quality, but I am not at all familiar with VW coilovers and this was the first time I'd ever known I was seeing a set of VW coilovers.

I drove the car with them on too and they rode similar, if a bit stiffer, than the stock setup. She does not have them as low as she can go.

I can ask her to write up a little review perhaps, but I think they're somewhat popular in the VW scene. IIRC, she bought them because a friend of hers has them as well.

Then you should go to a VW forum and look around.

My only concern was that maybe the build quality on a cheaper brand of coilovers might not be as nice on some models as on others.

For higher end coilovers I would expect all their quality to be high for no matter what model they make.

I'll ask her about it though.

I'm 2.5 from bottom in both front and rear, giving me an awful rake because the rear of the car is so light. But with about a half an inch of adjustment in the rear will fix that and because of how light it is it won't make it noticeably more or less bouncy.

If my car looked like that, I would get these too! but it does look sick especially since it's a Jetta coupe.

I love her car. Clean chassis and a rare color. Needs a little work, but not bad for an '86 commuter car! Plus it just turned over 76,000 miles iirc.

I just want to get her swapped already. She's got some ATS wheels to put on the car once she gets tires, but she just had a baby so the car is taking a backseat for now.
