Well, I broke down and bought another set of tires.

Of course, the Sentra-savvy would recognize that they're a bit big for the Sentra...

Plus, I'm not really sure I want to take them off what they came on...

It's a 1994 325i WITH the LSD, 107k on the chassis, 80k on the motor and tranny. No sport suspension but I don't know how much difference that'll make... It also has Koni SAs up front. I bought it from Terry Baker (for those who know him) for a pretty good deal. He was originally going to make it a STX car but decided to keep playing with his E30 hybrid (which trophied at Nats this year, btw).
It's a lead sled but, damn, if it doesn't do exactly what you tell it to do. Turn in is a bit better than the stock SE-R and steady-state is DEFINITELY better than the Sentra. It's obviously not as tossable as the Sentra but it does an admirable job of hiding its heft. It's only marginally faster in a straight line but it sounds considerably better doing it.
I'm keeping the Sentra, putting a roll bar in it, and probably prepping it for STS. The Bimmer will be my daily driver and the Sentra my "race car".
Now if I just figure out how to drive the damn thing with the drive wheels on the wrong end...
Andy - who hopes his Honda buddies won't shun him for creeping further from the Honda camp...

Mmmmmm.... ITS!!!

I am going to have to test it out to make sure its safe at VIR this weekend
Now we need to do something about the Honda problem.
Seriously, find me a used Honda, with a factory LSD, and not an ITR (too expensive... still) that fits MaddMatt and myself and I'll probably buy it.

School sucks. Especially with a full-time job.

It's not a factory LSD, but that Rivergate Accord is still around.
The temptation to get out and play with you guys is great, no question. And in two years when I finish school, I may just have to succumb. *sigh*
It's your job to make sure HC is still around and flourishing when I get there.

You'll have a nice big trunk to put the remaining used RE71s I'll be bringing to you this weekend.

You better be at summit in november, dammit....
Man, Ryan, I wish I was. We could draft each other down the back straight and keep up with... well... slightly faster cars, I guess.

Congratulations Andy. Nice car.
It's sooo grown up and respectable. Needs stickers or a wing or something...
Welcome to 2 car hell. Now you have 2 cars that you want to tinker with. It's going to take some discipline. Ask me how I know.

Nice ride man! Looks like you got it from a nice area too! Is that a trailer park?
Hate to disappoint you, old chap, but it looks like I'm stuck with another IRS... I guess I'll just have to settle for second place behind the linkin' log cars...

He did say he had no garage... ~Chris, eating lots of Ramen right now trying to save up for tires for next year... and in a different layer of 2-car hell.
PS- nice car, and for your own sake, I suggest you don't autocross it. Ever. Then you too would start getting crazy ideas like "what would it take to set this car up like the '1994-325i-sedan-with-LSD-STX-Danamobile' ".

Andy had to make some "living adjustments" to be able to afford his purdy new luxobarge.

Hey!! What's that supposed to mean? Bring it on, bimmer-boy, you wanna-be-Tunnell!

You think you've game for the Bavarian beater? I realize you have the advantage with the rear telephone pole suspension but at least my diff works.

Some people see a trailer park, I see a giant golf ball!

Actually, it's one of the 20 or so vaccuum spheres on base for the wind tunnels.
