Someone tell me if these are good deals, or am i getting ripped off? (about painting)
1) I'm getting a front lip, side skirts, and a rear spoiler painted. they're already painted white so he's going to have to sand down and all that. and on the spoiler there's some chips that he's gonna need to work on too. Then he'll paint and clear coat them. He's doing it for $300, is that a good deal? and...
2) I was also interested in getting the 2 inner trunk holes (the ones from the stock spoiler where the brake light and that plastic piece go), and both my emblems shaved. he said he'd be welding them shut and sanding and painting the whole deck. and he said he could do that for $200. how's this deal sound?

Id like to know as well. I have very little bodyshop pricing experience, leaving me quite ignant in that area
Whats the going price to take a white rear bumper, strip it and paint it red?

Do you have to purchase the paint or is he? If he is charging you 300 to paint them and he is buying the paint, clear, and thinners and what not, that is a good price. I would find out if flex needs to be added to the paint for the lip and what not. Paint and clear are expensive depending on what color and what type of paint he is using.
sounds like a fair deal. you didn't mention the year of the car but he may have to blend the trunk into the rear quarters. for that price you shouldn't find any thing wrong with the paint job and you should get some kind of warrenty in writting. good luck

Thats a very good price. Make sure they are a reputable body shop that does good work. Try to find other people that have had work done there before, and try to see some of his work 1st hand. As far as the price,
its a good one.

sounds pretty reasonable to me. i was quoted 400 for my lip and sides.
$300 for the front lip, sides, and spoiler aint too bad. shaving the holes and emblem for $200 aint bad at all either.
He's buying the paint, clear, everything... and he is putting in the flex additive since the lip and side skirts are urethane and they will flex a lot. my car's a '98 and it will be the stock Cheyene Red Pearl paint. and he's been doing this kind of work for 20 years now and he just opened up a shop. he also just got certified to do EVERYTHING, so now insurance companys will send people to him to get their cars worked on. i also kind of know him so the price he gave me was discounted from what he normally does it for.
