Instrument Panel Lighting
Hi,
I'm looking to replace all of the bulbs behind the dash on my 96 Accord as they are pretty dim and it's getting hard to see them at night (the climate control bulb is completely out). I saw the cluster removal write up so I think I can handle getting to it, but I wanted to know what bulbs it needs and how they fit (is the socket and bulb one assembly). Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The single bulb for the climate control ***** is a T5/74. I recently replaced mine in my '96. Autozone was pricey @ $5 for two, but they were the long life (LL) version of the bulb so hopefully I won't be doing the job again too soon.
The two bulbs for the pushbuttons are not 74s but instead are are bulbs with bare leads. Remove the two twist-in "buttons", unwrap the leads, and pull the bulbs out. Put the new bulbs in, wrap the leads in the same way, trim the leads, and twist the buttons back in. These bulbs purchased locally worked fine for me:
12V Microlamps (2-Pack) $1.99
