Please someone tell me which Honda type was this SPEEDOMETER from?
i have been googling for the match speedometer for this one
but no luck

maybe some of you would know

i bought an F22 engine which included with this speedometer
the mechanic told me this was either from Accord/Prelude
but i searched around and cant fine match speedometer

 

I've spent about 20 minutes searching everything Honda and Acura and can't find anything even relatively close either.

It has to be out of something JDM since it is only in KMH. It is definetly a Honda cluster though.

Whatever you have, that's a nice cluster.

 

How can you be sure that it's Honda? I agree that it's definitely not North American. Honda usually has the CEL and other lights above the shift lights don't they?

OP, Do you have any pictures of the back of the cluster? What car is it in were you took this picture?

its already assembled in my Honda Accord 91 sedan 2.2L

thats the problem, but its Honda, it was shipped together with engine F22, all the harness, ECU, and this cluster

Well if it plugged right into your stock harness and the engine package came from Japan. I would say that it is a JDM 90-93 Accord cluster. Not sure that the Prelude used the same connectors. If it required a custom wiring job, then I'm not sure what it's from. It's not from an Accord though.

Looks pretty sweet whatever it's from. Although I never understood why they put a tach in an auto gauge cluster. Must be to fill up the space...

 

I assume it is a Honda cluster due to the font of the numbers which looks like it's from a Honda, and the gear selector, which is identical to a CB7 Accord's, but is in the centre of the cluster, rather than to the right with the fuel/temp gauges.

I'm interested to know what it is, because I really like it. It does not appear that the gauge faces are overlays either. I think it's 100% OEM, but even with my searching, I couldn't find anything similar to it.

 

For future 5 speed swaps.

 

I think I found which car this speedometer s from... Its from some kind of Acura Legend. I think your picture maybe a newer maybe jdm one though. There are similarities. Check it out:

 

Ah yes...I searched Acura Legends, and didn't even come across a cluster like that. The tach/speedo faces are different, but the rest of it all seems to line up.

I've got a 95 Legend at my local yard. I might look into seeing if that cluster could fit a CB.

but bad news for me
this car is not F22 (SOHC)
its F20
the seller cheated me
when the engine arrived the engine number was scracted
i couldnt read the engine code clearly

 

F20 is actually a better engine. It's a very common swap too. Most swaps you see in CB7s are H22 or F20. He didn't cheat you at all. You actually got a pretty good deal out of it.

 

IMO the F20A SOHC is a bit less of a motor than the SOHC F22A. Really depends on the head casting though. Hopfully they didn't send you the Ascots F18A engine. At least if they sent you the F20A there is some hope. That being said. I would definitely be getting in touch with the company and getting more information on the exact engine that you bought. As soon as I saw the scratched out engine code I would have been asking questions. I would have been thinking, what engine is this and whether or not it was stolen.

Now the DOHC VTEC F20B would be a steal of a deal in place of an F22A. However, I highly doubt they tried to pass a DOHC F20B off as a SOHC F22A.

 

good point....wasnt specified which F20 it was. I was assuming the DOHC.

 

Easy enough mistake to make. Considering that most of the F20 talk is of the F20B type. Not as many people on here talking about F20A. It's not as popular an engine in North America.

As for the F20A, there's a few guys on CB7T that run it. I suppose the F20A is a good swap if you're just looking for a stock swap and not looking to build it.

 

i am planning to build it, F22 but semi not FULLY modified

 

Never seen the point in spending money building an F when you get almost 200hp right out of the box with an H.

 

Turbo with cast iron sleeves in the block.

 

F22B2 came with my car = paid for 7 years ago.
89mm Darton sleeved block, Wiseco HC light weigth pistons and light weight carrillo rods installed for $2000
90-93 PT3 head (F22A6) = Free (probably pick one up for $150)
Fully loaded chipped OBD1 ECU = $50 purchase price, another $50 for all the additional components.

Total = $2100 +/- a few bucks.

So for Around $2-$2500 I will have a brand new 95mm x 89mm, 2.4L iron sleeved block with 11.5/12:1 CR. I'm sure that it will more than likely spank any tired old $1000-$1500+ H22 swap that would be lucky to put down 160hp to the ground. If it wasn't burning oil by the gallon and suffering from bad compression. Not easily fixed on an H22...$$$$!

That is the point of spending the money on an F. Why spend $800-$1500+ on a tired old 60k+ mile H22. When you could spend that same money to completely rebuild a much cheaper F series base for N/A or boost. But that is just my opinion.

all my h22s put down 170-175 whp with mileage as high as 120k miles. usually with just an intake and exhaust too. Now as far as putting down more power who knows since the H will be on a stock ecu and you will need to pay for some tuning to make that wild F work right. It still sounds like a fun engine though...
