been searching, havent really found a confident response. 1993 integra LS currently has a bad cali emissions ecu. can i just put a federal spec ecu out of the same yr make model without any problems? thanks!

 

as long as the ecu is year specific and you dont throw a code I wouldnt see why you couldnt use it?

i swear california.. it must be horrible to have to deal with that.

 

some of the cali emissions cars have some different sensors or something im not really sure. i havent seen the car yet all i know is the ecu was actually stolen from the car and it's a cali emissions car. guys trying to get a new ecu for it but dont know if he can just buy a regular one and it wont throw any codes or if he has to get a cali one.

 

not sure if they made specific ecu's for the da integra specifically just for california federal emissions..that is a good possibility. just pull the ecu from its location, identify the code on the ecu and see if another da integra 92-93 has the same ecu code..easiest way to find out without throwing $ around to find out later down the road...

 

they did make cali spec ecu's and federal ecu's
