oil pump Gear upgrade (oil starving after 8500rpm++ on stock is this true??)
i've heard that the stock oil pump gear will not produce enough pressure beyond 8000k is this true...
where can one get an upgraded oilpump gear set ???
where can one get an upgraded oilpump gear set ???
ya i was kinda wonderin that too. i thought maybe if we could get a hold of a type-S oil pup or something like that would be good. dont know if there is a difference or not though. some info would be nice if anyone knows.
Unless you're changing the weights of the rotating mass or changing the R/S ratio don't even try spinning a H22 up to those RPM levels. You'll have a lot more problems than not having quite enough oil pressure.

I would think U would need to run higher fule pressure on the injectors, or get bigger injetors also because the amount of time U have to inject fule is getting pretty darn small at 8500rpms. Thus, U would need to inject more fule over this short time. The only prob. is if U get bigger injectors that work right at 8500rpms U will be running rich all the time when your less then 5000rpms. Ayway, the point is, there is much much more to getting your car to rev that hight than just taking off the rev limiter. Ie, can your valves fully close/open fast enough, can all the spinning parts take that speed...

we werent talking about removing a rev limiter......everyone knows you have to upgrade everything from fuel systems to the drivetrain, but what we were wondering was if the type-S oil pump produced more oil pressure than a stock H22 oil pump.....thus being neccessary when revving a motor higher. i cant hardly read what the hell your posting to begin with!! you can run bigger injectors without running too rich........maybe if you have overkill like 1000cc injectors on a 200hp car!! and im sure anyone whos gonna rev their car to 8500 rpm's is gonna take valvetrain into consideration. we all know there are plenty of manufacturers making stiffer valve springs and lighter retainers and stainless valves, ect. you are a newbie obviously.......maybe not to this site....but to cars! might wanna really think about things and read the whole thread before posting. also, maybe proofread a little!!
It's not about the valvetrain of the engine, it's the geometry of the stroke is what matters in this case. The H22A doesn't lend tiself to high rpm operation since piston head speeds get far too high on a street driven engine. Just too much weight and speed to bounce around. I'm fairly sure that the valve springs can take an additional ~500 rpm, it's a matter of lift is when the problems come in. Secondly, I don't think that the Type-S oil pump is any different than the USDM one.
