Default 93 Accord hesistation issue

I'm having issues with my AT 93 Accord as far as it hesitating if you floor the gas. The tach will jump randomly to redline and the car bucks/hesitates. If you slowly lay into the gas pedal it won't do it. I did change the ignitor this past summer to fix my random shutting off of the car(it wasn't the MFR).

I've been told a possible bad tach signal, which I'm not sure how to fix. Like I said it only does it if you floor it. I have no CEL's.

I appreciate any insight.

Don't floor it. It's not a race car!

Great help, thanks. By floor it I mean pulling out into traffic and giving it gas vs. just giving it gas while already moving.

Climbing to redline after letting off the throttle sounds like an ignition/ECU issue to me but its hard to say for sure. I'd start by replacing sparkplugs, wires, cap, and rotor...set you back maybe $50 for lifetime warrantied parts (ie. keep your receipt and wires/cap/rotor for free next time).

I just got an Actron 9580 OBDII scanner and love the ability to look at and log real time data. For issues like this that aren't flipping CEL's its invaluable IMO. Look around you might be surprised, they're starting to come down in price.

And yeah...the spam and lack of actual knowledgeable responses is a lot of why I quit using this forum.

Thanks for a legitimate response. I wanted to make it clear the tach functions 98% normal if you're slow on the gas pedal. It jumps/bounces around on hard excel not decel. I tend to buy oem wires which will definitely put me over $50. I've had two different cheap wire sets break in half down the plug holes. Never again.

It could possibly be your distributor going out. There are lots of sensors in there that can go out over time. If you ease on the gas can you get it climb steadily with no bucking all the way up or does it get worse at higher rpms.

Yeah, you said exactly how it is. If I ease into it I'd say it climbs pretty much normal. It definitely seems worse when it goes over 3k when hard on the gas.

i would say check a few more things first cause distributors are kinda expensive. If you can get a spare to thow on a see if your problem goes away i would start there.

Yeah, I kinda wanted to avoid buying parts till I had an idea where to start.

Are you sure it's spark? Do you have an automatic?

Its not necessarily just spark, the dizzy contains the the cps, which controls injector firing and ignition timing and so on and so forth

Yes it is auto but I'm 99% it isn't tranny or it'd be doing it all the time.
It has to be something dizzy related like Dioxine said.
