What cams to run in my b18c1 setup
I have a b18c1 with cp pistons, golden eagle rods, supertech valves, springs and retainers. I don't have the gsr cam only b16a2 out of my 00 si... I was looking to upgrade them and looking at brain crower stage 2 turbo cams.... Any advice? I plan on running around 350-400whp but plan on building a 600whp motor over the next couple years so if I could reuse the cams it would be nice ....
Sorry it is a ram horn, with turbonetics 60trim and full 3inch exhaust on that side and intake manifold is stock b16a2 for now... Might go to a skunk2
I did hear those were good cams... I can get a very good deal on bc turbo stage 2 cams and was wondering if anyone knows much about them

If you want Skunk 2 get the N/a Tuner series Stage 1's. Pro 1's are too big for youre power levels(350-400). Plus you will have accelerated wear/stress on the valvetrain. Gsr/Itr will have OEM reliability on valvetrain.
i Run Gsr, if i had the choice i would prob get Ctr/ITR although there hard to find.
Lol toda c's ftw!
Seriously though, gsr is a great cost effective cam. Itr is a nice upgrade from that. Im using itr's with the same valvetrain as you and my car makes power to redline 8900

Thanks for all the advice .... One last question ... If I do go with the bc stage 2 would it mess with my idle etc.... Since they are a more aggressive cam or since it's built for a turbo will it be ok
And the post from "theshodan" can you explain because the turbo cams are designed to reduce overlap and increase the lift for more air intake? I'm just a little confused
To Shodan and others trying to help this guy. You're trying your best to point him in the right direction with ctr/itr/gsr cams for his application. Notice how he's still set on the BC cams lol llol. People ask questions and no matter what answer they get, they go with the predetermined choice!

Not really .... Just curious and no one has actually given me a definitive answer and those particular cams which was one of my original cams .... I've heard from 2 tuner shops that they are newer and they like them but they told me to ask around .... I like the itr's but I've heard because they are n/a you lose about 40hp at 400hp due to the overlap and I'm just trying to learn and get everyone's opinion to make the best choice .... With a wife and 2 kids I can't afford to make the wrong one

The "Turbo Cams" I believe are more designed for very Basic Turbo set-ups (stock bottom ends)...Like under 250-300whp. If you had a greddy Kit and wanted to make a little more power then the Turbo cams might work for you....For 350-400hp you do not want too use these cams you will LOOSE power at 400hp using those cams. Whoever told you that youre going to loose 40HP using ITR cams has no idea what there talking about. There are TONS of posts and Dyno charts that will show that ITR cams usually net about a 40 gain over a OEM GSR/SI camshaft depending at the power level youre at...At 400whp a 25-30whp gain is likely...maybe more depending on other factors ( ported head, compression ect)
