Just bought 02 v6, possible tranny problems?
Just purchased a 2002 Honda accord coupe ex v6 with the automatic transmission. The tranny does not seem to slip but it throws you forward in higher rpm when shifting. Should I go and do a flush on the transmission oil? Can the flush only be at done at the dealer or a DIY as well. What's the first steps I should do.
The B7XA transmission in that vehicle is not very good.
The best bet would be to perform a drain and fill on it. Get 4qts of ATF-Z1 or ATF-DW3, drain whats in there, refill. Theres a filler bolt on the top that says ATF, and a bolt on the side of the transmission that takes a 3/8 drive ratchet without a socket. Drain, clean the magnet, I'd refill to the top dot. Check the level again after the car was running a bit. It should take a bit over 3 QTS.
