bads
is it bad for my altenator/battery/car
my dilemma
i don't know if it is safe to run these that low, and anyone think i should add a capacator/battery any pro's out there dealt with this before

Yes- if your lights are flickering while the subs are hitting, your alternator can't supply enough power for demand. You'll deffinently need a second battery, or atleast a capacitor to ease the load on the alternator.( smooth out the spikes to the charging system) Also not a bad idea to upgrade the alternator. Try to hook up a voltmeter while its playing and see what the charging system is reading. Most likely dropping below 10v
I get scolded when I say something is stupid so instead let me say it is HIGHLY unwise to run that woofer that low PAST what is recommended.
thanks for paying attention to the subs hitting at .45 ohms
, but it wasn't it was at 2 ohms

And that you tube clip I hope isn't you cause that destroys subs being out of a box and hitting peak output. Just sayin. If I had to recommend something go to EBAY and type in Kinetik HC800. I have had great luck with these. Im running around 2500 watts peak one sub and my lights barely dim. Then you can save up for an alt. What guage wire u running?
dimming lights. you need bigger alternator. that is the only solution to this problem. anything else is just a band aid. if you havent already, do the 'big 3 wire upgrade' look it up. You need to figure out how many amps your stock alt makes (probably around 80A or so.) then calculate how many amps your amplifiers need at high output. then figure in a little overhead. So say your amps will require 150A. You will need at least that big of an alternator. HO alternators are not cheap either. I priced a 150A for my Civic it was like $500+
I bought a 165amp alternator off of a good Ebay seller more than 4 years ago for far less. It's still in the car today. If you're looking at brands like Stinger, you're paying for the name.
i have the subwoofers and deck on and using my ohmmeter and putting it on the ohmmeter selector (20ohms) and then putting th popsitive lead on the + channel and the negative one on the - channel this is a monoblock amp, a good amp, however i know these speakers didn't cost much, and that wasn't me on the youtube video i take no ownership of that, however i did take my car to frys and they tested it being at .45 ohms and they said something's gotta blow, but it hasn't.
what should i do?

going with ho alt's and extra batteries sounds expensive, but i may switch the subs out if needed, or buy a capacitor if its the right thing to do just won't let this amp go
running 4 gauge with a 80 amp fuse amp has 2 25 amp fuses and i know everyone tells me you'll only truely get 500 watts but that's enough plus this amp is rated 425-500 at 4 ohms and 850 at 2 ohms

i think bigger alt will break electrical componets and a bigger better battery might be good, and i was told you have to pull the speaker wire out of the amp to test if with the meter
bigger wires and a second battery or capacitor would be best to keep the lights from flickering. benn there before. a capacitor did it for me.
