If your headlights look a little hazy and oxidized try using one of those cleaners that come with a rubbing compound or try wet sanding them with a real fine paper like 1000-2000 grit.
I did that and it helped a little.

The best halogen bulb is probably going to be the Toshiba or Philips HIR. It has a coating that reflects the infrared energy back onto the filament which then heats it up to produce more visible light.

For your 9006 low beam, you'll want the HIR2 9012 bulb (~1700 lumen). For the 9005 high beam, you want the Toshiba HIR1 9011 bulb (~2300 lumen). Make sure it's the Toshiba brand and not the Philips brand 9011. The Philips bulb doesn't have the infrared coating and doesn't produce as much light as the Toshiba model.

For these to fit the 9006/9005 bulb holder, it requires a slight trim to the bulb base.

Toshiba 9011 - http://www.rallylights.com/SearchRes...CategoryID=608
Toshiba 9012 and 9011 - http://suvlights.com/advanced_search...868dcf&x=0&y=0

I've had the 9011's in my high beams for almost a year and bought a back-up set since they're getting more difficult to find.

Thanks, i will try cleaning out the lights first and then getting the bulbs.I'm sure that will fix the problem.
