Hi, need some help from you! i got an integra Gsr, i was drag racing for the first time last Saturday and my best time was 2.41 60ft 16.01/4 mile, at 86.86 miles
i got a replica tri y header with an integra type r exhaust system and high flow cat, i want to know why i was not able to reach the 15seconds range, i got some problems on my clutch but i think my miles are a lil bit low,
what you think ?

I would say since it was youre first time drag racing, that your driving skills are the reason you couldn't see 15's

 

Atmospheric conditions could be playing a role as well.

 

i was able to make a good time a the 60ft ( probably the most important part)
and im pretty sure that i run the car very well, because i have 8 month with the car....( and always practicing in the street) the thing is i don't understand why the miles are so low, :S my fuel tank was full and im not very slim but anyways i don't understand why this happen ....

What gear were you in? And what transmission do you have?

Honestly transmission > motor when it comes to acceleration. I don't see why people do all these upgrades, an LS motor with a b16 tranny would get you the desired time, although acceleration is completely pointless, but welcome to the 21st century. 0-60 this, 1/4 mile that

 

I don't race on the street, didn't mean to say that , but i understand that the clutch will be a big difference, im getting one custom made and some decent tires for the next time !

The track is in front of the sea, im from the Dominican Republic!


I got my stock tranny, no lsd, i know if i change yo a b16 or type r i would make a big difference, also on plans to get a type r with 4.440 diff.

which tires do you think are better ( radial ) dunlop direzzas or nitto nt555 ?

 

my first time at the track was my audi i ran a 14.08 after it was built that was my first time ever now it runs 11's all day

 

Impressive ! i understand that but my car is no that fast that's the difference, you got an 11 seconds car, i made like 5 times the 1/4mile and i started with 16.3 because i was testing grip , i was able to run 2.3 at 60 fts but on that pass i missed 3rd gear, im pretty sure that was my 15 second pass but i was not able to reach that again, at least no that day, now i bought my clutch custom with 4 pucks but im worried because doesn't have any spring in the middle it might be to aggressives for dayli drive ......

why did you buy a 4 puck unsprung clutch when you have bolt on's?

 

Im buying an IM ( ported ) , cam shafts, ecu chip, intake ( already got the exhaust system ) tires, flywheel and clutch installing on January

 

are you going to tune after cams? because there will be no diffrance

 

sure man! im planing to make the chip for my car, not one with a standard program
