so i got gsr tranny in my car with a b20 swap....the car always did this from the day i got it and now i just want to fix it

it will go from 1st to 2nd just fine but if u try to down shift from 3rd to 2nd it wont go in at all....the only time it will go into 2nd again is if you slow down to like 5mph and the put it in 2nd

i would say that the syncro is smashed there or something car the syncro's are what slow down the gears in the tranny to put it in gear i had the same problem in my d series try to double clutch it because that will slow down the gears enough to put it in gear if its the syncro.

 

is in a 2000 honda civic

 

i would say its the sychos too but it has no problem going from 1st to 2nd

Sounds to me like the transmission needs to be dropped in any case.

Don't see HOW that would be REMOTELY possible.

 

There are two bolts (with washer/spring and ball) my tranny someone (the owner b4 me) put the bolt in there with no washer n smashed the ball and spring in the bolt n problem fixed..

 

There are two bolts (with washer/spring and ball) like on the post above NO!! i didnt have to drop the tranny to fix it i just replace that one bolt the had the spring and ball smashed in and fixxed!!!!
