Greddy turbo kit complete.
This weekened DIRep972(chris) and myself installed a greddy turbo kit on a 2000 Si for HT member FredoSP. My thoughts of the greddy kit is that they are the best quality kit I have ever seen. Granted they come with a small turbo and dont put out the most power, but they are made so good. I had no idea this turbo kit was a very much true bolt on kit. It even uses stock holes to mount the IC and piping!! I fell in LOVE with this kit and if you are looking for something to give you a little pull in you ride with out the peak HP, I would recomend this kit.
Anyhow here are some of the pics:
I like the fact I could fit the FCU velcroed to the stock ECU.
One word of advice. Remove the fan bolt and not the AC condensor fan bolt or this will happen. You get high on Freon!!

it really is such a clean kit..and you know what..the 18 g isnt that bad of a turbo!!
good job guys! im hoping to have my **** done soon..... its been long enough
yeah, I remember when I put one of those on my friends GSR. I was pretty impressed with the quality of everything. Did you guys cut out the restrictor in the intake piping? Also, just for your info guys my friend just recently passed a legal smog inspection out here in CA with the Greddy kit installed. He had the intercooler kit and a BOV as well however the BOV is inside the fenderwell so it cannot be seen. the smog guys looked up some stuff in a book before they smogged it but everything checked out.
Damm those pictures look NICE!! Yeah shes just a little hot at idle, so I have to look into that. I might have have air in the coolant line or my mixture might be off. Other than that it was awesome, thanks guys, I learned a lot.
I still have to get the Type S BOV Welded and refill the freon
, no biggy!!

it really is a nice kit! But the "fuel management" has got to go. I couldn't do dick with it, or make any power. But add in Hondata or comparable system, and you can expect about 250hp with 190ish torque on a stock block with the large intercooler. Not world beating, but for a Si it's pretty damn quick! Overall, I like the GReddy kit.
And thanks to my girlfriend Melanie for being so patient. I had to ask her for permission to work on his car.
That's so funny every time I hear something like that... but damn, it's so true that most of us have to do that
The Greddy kit and install looks good
I agree, granted i did not have the kit for the dohc rather the sohc, it was a true bolt on. For the money, it's a simple and clean setup. You get nice reliable/streetable power. As long as you leave it at stock setting from greddy, it's good to go.
Great job guys!! So Fred...smoke anyone yet?
Nice pics.

it was a pleasure working on a car as clean and in good shape as Fredo's. Congrats! u r now a member of the darkside. pics look great art.
Just a quick question about the Greddy kit:
How much power can be made with the kit on a GSR and tuned with a Hondata.
I guess I'm asking about how much boost and power the turbo can make. Anyone here make 300 WHP with this kit on a GSR?

350 actually, and he's since gone to a bigger turbo and built block.
