How do you KNOW the starter is going bad?

And if it is going bad WHY in the hell would you NOT replace it?

This^ may be caused by a bad or low battery.

im going to replace it see whats going on.
This is a very expensive way to solve car problems. Get a multimeter and do some testing to pinpoint the problem.
