I've always wanted one, now I have to decide whether I should pull the trigger. I have one in site, I havent seen it yet, but I might go see it this weekend (its 4 hours away from my home though). It does have some surface rust around the wheel wells and I would probably be swapping the motor seen as it is high kilometers, but the price is negotiable and it is a stock R. Here's the link, just seeing what all you R owners think?

Seems a bit odd that they wouldn't have interior pics, or engine bay, or any more details about it.
With that many miles you have to expect to change out a lot of parts if the current owner hasn't (bushings, springs/shocks) and a full checkup would be in order to see if anything's not right.
I'm not saying it isn't a great deal, I'm just surprised at the lack of details.

Hope it's exactly what you want. Even if it's needs some TLC it will be worth it in the end. Best of luck to you in your search for an R.
Make sure the seller has paperwork on maintenance and anything else that will inform you about the history of this R, obviously run the carfax yourself. If he doesn't have any records, that's your entry to offer a lower price.
I too have been in the market for an R for many years, off and on, and I've since never owned one. One main reason is that I fully realize that buyers are in the position of being taken advantage in this market just because it's an R, and it's easy to claim that the car has never been modified, always garaged, and taken good care of etc... I feel the same way when I see these knuckleheads selling their B16a swapped civics "with 40k miles" and no papers. I swear, I don't think I've seen a single jdm motor over 60k, hmm.. really?
You want to offer $1,500 less than an already fair priced R? I say go for it to cover your back on what is already an inevitable restoration (and make sure to document it). Hell, maybe even lower, and if says no, walk away. R owners can bitch about the depreciation of Rs and blame low ballers or the economy, but I won't give them the slightest sympathy. If that were the case, I wouldn't want an R myself. But the truth is, there are some Rs worth the top dollar, but most aren't.
Good luck.

Rare year. Rust is not cool. Price is really low but who knows what else is going on with it.
There aren't many cars that come up for sale around here. A handful per year generally and the one's I've seen for the past couple of years have all had some issue or another.
