99 accord coupe, AT/MT conversion and EuroR swap?
buddy of mine has an AT 1999 Accord Coupe with the F23? i believe.
he wants to put in a H22A7 from the EDM 1998-2002 accord Type R.
and also wants to do the auto to manual conversion.
what i want to know is would the swap be plug and play? with the usual axles, mounts and etc.
what vehicle and model could we use to swap everything over to manual.
also wants to put on an accord front bumper with fog lights and lip? what model accord did this bumper come off of??
-we are generally honda/acura/nissan savvy. and he has done about 4 auto-manual conversions on 240's.
so just some insight and help would be beneficial
if not the h22A7 what about just a regular h22a?

The H22A7 he wants won't have the 7 behind the engine code. Why? Cause the JDM Importers get the Euro/Type R engine from Japan, and Japan's engine don't come with numbers at the end. So the Euro R he wants will says "H22A" on the block. H22A7 is a European Type R engine.
The swap will be somewhat plug and play. But a few wires will need to be lengthen by re-using his old F23A1 engine harness. Good thing he's OBD2 cause that ATR H22 engine is also an OBD2 engine, so things will be a bit easier. I recommend him getting the whole complete engine swap package, because the factory Type R tranny is a killer.

is there a different trans he could run besides the type r?
also with the Manual swap, he can use pretty much everything out of the 5 spd accords right?
About the manual swap, yes you will need parts of the same generation car you have. I know a lot of the parts are the same on 90-97 Accords and some 92-96 Preludes but you have a 6th gen.
Im attempting to do the same swap in my 02 accord sedan at the beginning of next year. Let me know how yours turns out. By the way does anyone have any details on this?
Muffinman, where are you when we need you?

Yes, he can use anything from the same year 5spd Accord to make things easier.
