Sluggish D16y8 what could be the problem
ok when i first start the car its fine throttle response is good and gets up and goes but once the engine heats up to normal temp the response is gone
coming from a complete stop i really have to give it some revs to get it going without it jerking and once going after 2-3k rpms its like it grabs a gear or somthing and takes off then same situation in 2nd gear ... almost like something is holding the motor back untill 2-3k rpms
i have adjusting timing and it is spot on ... has new plugs ... fuel filter and oil and i just replaced the upstream 02 sensor... the downstream is throwing a code but i was told that just measures cat efficiency and does not hinder teh engine and i only run 93oct in it
anyone know what i should be looking for ?

your pissing away your damn money throwing 93 octane in a motor that does not require it because its low compression and does not make enough power to need 93 octane. you wont get any better gas mileage using it either. replace the cap/rotor and possibly the ignitor and see how that helps.
OEM cap/rotor/wires? NGK plugs, that are gapped correctly?
Replace the O2, and stop puting 93 in it. your wasting your money. These cars don't need anything other then 87.

What do you think is the benefit of using premium gas instead of regular?
run gas recommended by honda you are not running high compression
Next get everything OEM not crappy auto parts store stuff its more expensive but it lasts longer preforms better
you can find a full tune up kit n ebay for 60 bucks including NGK Wires, Plugs, Rotor, Cap, Fuel Filter
I would also run a Can of BG44K before replacing the filter thats what i usually do before every filter change i add bg44k and after the full tank is gone i replace the filter
