I recently got a new windshield installed by safelite.

Little did i know it would be a shaded windshield.

So i went to a local tint place and a guy tells me i can't get a windshield strip because i have a shaded windshield.

He says it will mess up the tint, as well as discolor the shade on the windshield??

Is this true? Anyone experience this?

 

Tint a windshield? Wow.

And you can put tint on colored glass, which is all that the blue at the top of a windshield is. The color is different, but that should be expected.

 

NOT tint the whole windshield. hahaa

He was like putting a windshield strip on top of the shaded windshield part would cause the tint to discolor or some ****..

I thought it was maybe because of the tint he uses or something..

 

find a new place to get your tint done

 

I think that tint is in the glass, like all factory car have some sort of tint made into the glass. Just have a tint guy put on a strip, should not do any harm.
