that's interesting. i think it is an oversimplification to simply remove stoner from the results and draw conclusions like that. recall that pedrosa (i'll no longer call him pedrobot, i actually gained some respect for him this season) was out for a few races, and has proven that he is capable of going fast on the honda.
stoner was the best rider this year, there is no doubt of that. but to say it was all stoner and the honda was "just" on par with the yamahas is unrealistic.

yes, as well as the fuel restrictions. the msma wanted to force technological advances in the sport. technology costs money, which only the major players (honda, yamaha) could realistically afford. ducati spoiled the party the first year, but that was it.
