Default My build - 1991 Barcelona Green EF9

I bought this car back in may 2010. I looked at a few ef9's and this was the cleanest by far so the best place to start. Here's a few pictures of it after I got it onto Irish plates.

It was very standard but it had a few nice bit's on it when I bought it.

SSR type M's
RSR cat back
Panel filter
Tein lowering springs
Tanabe strut brace

Only thing I didnt like about the car was the runs in the paintjob done on the front bumper and the paint had all faded off the boot spoiler and mirrors. There was laquer peel the passenger side pillar and I found a couple of small bubble's in the paint too, nothing to worry about, but with the frost last winter the bubble's got bigger and the panel beater put it down to water in the paint saying someone had painted bits before and must not have cleaned the spray gun properly or there was moisture in the airline.

So the next step was a full respray on the car

The curve in the bonnet makes me this fat, I swear

While it was off getting painted I ordered a few bits for it.

Amber tint film for the front indicator's

Nardi steering wheel

and a ring for the centre from eBay

Old school Apexi RSM

15 inch +35 Enkei RPF1

I decided to take it on a long trip to the ee9-ef9 meet at the Nurburgring and we had a long drive so I started getting ready for this.........

The wallet got another beating with.........

New DOHC vtec decals for the doors
Ksport coilovers
Buddyclub rear camber arms
New glass for the headlights
Replacement dash clocks
Replacement heater panel
Genuine honda floor mats
New rear calipers
New pads all round
T-Belt
Water pump
Full service
New CV boot rubbers
New flexi brake pipes

But it was worth it!!!!

Since I came back from the Nurburgring, on the visual side of things all I've really done is fitted steel pressed import plate's.

and bought a dash mat for it

On the performance side of things I ordered a Rywire 0bd0 to 0bd2 coversion harness and a twin to single dizzy harness, I didnt have time to do a conversion myself with work so I sent it down to JStoneRacing

They fitted a stroked B16b, 98 spec mani, did a full proper hydro conversion and fitted a 96 spec ITR box with a 4.7 final drive ad mugen diff

Here's a few shots of the Hydro conversion

excuse the state of the bay, I'm in the middle of tidying it up

Thank you, I think they were trying to keep it looking close to OEM. A few people have seen the bay and havent noticed the hydro conversion. The engine mounts were modified to drop the engine 10mm so no one would notice the B16b and to give more clearance for the bonnet. I'm painting the rocker cover, tucking the wire's on the right side of the bay and the fuse box on the shock tower on the left is getting moved to and a general clean up and tidy up. Its still covered in dust from the paint job and dirty from the conversion The engine is a B16b with ITR crank and rods and it still has the ek9 cams and pistons and all new Honda rings, gaskets, bearings etc. Its not the quickest in the world but it goes good!!

I'd love to go to cali!! We dont have the weather for the beaches and it's impossible trying to keep cars clean here with the state of the roads and with the weather

I've had 3 of my cars there now. I've had my old 2000 ITR there twice and my old 2006 CL7 there once and the EF9 there once also. I'll be going back again next year with it for the ee9-ef9 meet. Its a huge trip, I think its 3000-3500 kms there and back and you have a ferry from Ireland to England and the Chunnel from England to France so its expensive Here's the other cars

do you plan on amber tinting the corners to match the bumper light and sidemarkers?

I'm leaving it as is for the minute, there's a black ef9 in Ireland with amber indicators and amber corners and its a bit much tbh

Cheers, JStoneRacing did it!!

I had a look at your facebook page there and was just wondering, does the conversion kit you make leave the clutch with an OEM feel or is it a bit heavier???
