AEM Brake Pads
I need feedback on these pads, anybody who's using these pads, pls provide ur comments on the quality of them.
Specific Q's that I have:
How do they bite compared to OEM pads?
Do they squeak/squeal? On stock or after-market rotors?
How much brake dust is generated?
Overall impression? Would u buy them again?
TIA

All very good questions.. (that i would like answered as well.. lol) I recenty bought a set of AEM brake pads for my 5th gen lude, along with aftermarket rotors... would love some feedback on these pads myself...
I think AEMs pads are manufactured by Nissin. Nissin makes the OEM calipers on the Prelude and is an OEM supplier for many Japanese car mfgrs, so quality-wise I'd think they would be decent - don't know about the other stuff...

I had a set, didn't care for them much. They squealed when they were cold, probably cause I had honda put them on instead of doing it myself. Dust wasn't too bad, a little more than stock.
For the money I'd rather get a set of Hawks. I have them on now and they are great. They dust about the same as the AEM's and they bite a little better.

I have AEM front and rear pads on my '96 Prelude VTEC. Stock front and rear rotors. Once warmed up, these pads do a very good job stopping the car. When cold, these pads SQUEAL, enough to drive you nuts.
AEM pads leave behind a considerable amount of brake dust. AEM claims that their lighter color pad material will produce a dust that is not noticable, NOT TRUE AT ALL. Brake dust is present no matter what. Can't keep the wheels clean at all, even under normal braking conditions. My OEM Honda pads produced less brake dust and DID NOT squeal at all.
Next time around, I'm going to try the Axiss Metal Master pads.
Good luck.

I currently have AEM pads on that I put on when I had my rotors turned about 2 years ago and they are still going strong. The only problem is the noise on cold days, other than they they have been great. I also have another set that I am putting on with my new X-drilled rotors, so they worked good enough for me to go back to them again.
I have the AEM pads on the AEM rotors all the way around. Low amount of light colored dust. They squawk a bit pulling out of the garage but are done by the time I leave the driveway. I am very happy with the setup, less power needed for stopping, which I hope translates into longer pad and rotor life. I doubt it, but time will tell. They consist of a ceramic-aramid fiber compound.
