Someone needs to save this 98 R would be a fairly simple fix. i work in a body shop and know for sure this can be fixed. Looks to be never modified either.

That is a not a cheap/easy fix. By the time it is repaired, you might as well buy a clean title ITR for the money.

 

To be fair, at the time when the OP had posted this the bid on ITR was at most $3,500. It has since raised significantly in value. I've been following this closely as I currently live a few miles from its location and considered going there with a bid myself. It may see over $6,000, in the end.
