Default How to tell 96/97/98 bumper from 99/00?

I have some aftermarket civic front bumpers for 96-00 civics. How can I tell what year they fit? Any way to distinguish betweent he two easily? They are not labeled. Thanks

96-98 is the same.

If it doesn't look like this, it's 99-00.

they are not OEM meaning that they are not OEM styling. They are aftermarket design bumpers. They have molded in grills, molded in lips, different front opening and other different styling. I am very familiar with the OEM bumper styling to tell them apart but since these are not OEM style I am seeing if there are some measurements i can take or something. I am hoping there is a way to tell by the headlight cutout or grill or something. Sorry if I was redundant but I just want to be clear.

Similar. They are fiberglass. One appears to be a cwest knockoff type. They are typical aftermarket civic bumpers I guess.

Could someone with a '99-'00 Civic take the same measurements and post your results?

This is easy. Look at the top of the bumper, where it would mean the headlights, hood and fenders.

All along this part there are different lengths for the '96-'98 and '99-'00 front ends.

I only have a '96-'98 here so I could only do some measurements from it.
*ALL MEASUREMENTS ARE STRAIGHT ACROSS.*

Section from wheel well to headlight (part where it meets the fender flush): about 6 inches long

Grille width: 24 inches

Section between grille and headlights (this might not be applicable on aftermarket bumpers): 4.25 inches

Space between headlights: 33.5 inches

They're different because of the intrastructural design patterns utilized to accentuate specific slight modifications although subtle substantial enough to negate interchangability between said model years ..

i always told them apart but the center section. more precisely between the gril and headlights. on 96-98 bumpers its fatter than 99-00.

That's an easy way, but we don't know if this aftermarket bumper has a stock sized grille.
