Yeah that's right Austin got another wally at CMI this last weekend. Some of you may already know that Austin took a wally at the last NHRA event at Sears Point. Austin drove his ITR again at this event, simply dominating the outlaw bracket class with his consistant driving skills.

I wish that it was another Wally...but this was just the California Modified Imports(CMI) race....although I did take home $400, a 5 foot trophy, a shirt, a stunna visor, and 2 quarts of oil. Realised that the tires I have are complete junk, I guess 2 years, 5000 road miles, and over 250 runs on a set of drag radials is enough to cause them to lose their stickieness.

Here are the results:

The first time was my "dial-in", the second was my reaction time(perfect being 0.500 seconds), third was my actual time, fourth was the mph average over the last X feet(think that it's 60)...the mph is ~8-9mph low becuase I hit the brakes to prevent from running too fast.

"AUSTIN POWERS" the bracket racing champ! you should buy some real slicks with your prize money. and see how fast your type r can really go. "hint ditch the extra stud, you know like a GSR 4 lug".

 

The 13" slicks would be quite nice if I didn't do so much daily driving and autocrossing, but it just isn't an option that is available to me. I'm thinking that with a fair amount of traction using "street" tires I would be a ~13.5, maybe try removing some of the interior and I wouldn't have a problem hitting those times.

All of my runs this weekend were with full interior, only removed the spare tire, no weight reduction whatsoever, and with the full exhaust.
