any differance between auto and 5spd LS longblock?

i know i would need a flywheel but other than that is there a differance in the long block?

nope, just add a flywheel and clutch and bolt up your 5 spd tranny. Some have said that the cams are different, or are not as aggressive, but I dont beleive it.

Yeah, use the clutch that matches your trans. What trans are you using?
