97' Prelude SH - blew motor, F22b1 swap, confused and have questions.
I'm currently in a bind due to my engine giving out just recently and I don't have the money right now to purchase a replacement H22. Luckily, I have a F22b1 sitting in my shed. I have decided to quickly drop that in so I can have a car to drive to work. I've been running into a few issues and I hope you guys and help me out.
Shell - OBD2 97' Prelude SH
ECU- P5P (willing to buy OBD2 F22b1 96-97 Accord Vtec if need to. Need to pass vehicle inspection.)
Harness - OBD2 97' Prelude SH harness
Engine - OBD1 F22b1 (can't find TDC/CKP sensors by the crank pulley. Assuming it's OBD1)
After research, I am aware that the OBD2 ecu will be searching for the sensors by the crank. The last thing I would want to do is replace the oil pump with an OBD2 pump w/sensors. Is there any way around that? I'm in the process of purchasing a new distributor(confused if it's best to buy one with external coil or internal coil), ecu(if need to), etc. Be aware that I don't have a lot of funds to work with and that I am willing to do wiring if need to.
