a shop told me this was a skunk2 gen 1 intake manifold. but i can't make it out to be? just want confirmation as it might have to do with me not engaging vtec? (due to secondary butterfly capabilities?)

 

Is it a gsr head?

 

yes. 2001 integra gsr. original engine and head.

 

Secondary butterfly's or a dual runner manifold aren't needed for vtec engagement...and that's def not a skunk2 manifold

 

well thats a relief...geuss i gotta look at something else for not reving past 4500 rpm...the shop told me my oem gsr manifold "cracked" and so they gave me this "skunk2 gen 1" for "free"

 

So the question stilll lies...what kind do i have?

it does look like a blox intake manifold after searching it online. unless someone else knoe's for a fact its otherwise think we got it...apprecciate all the help!

only one more question...would it be better to keep this one or a stock oem?

 

if you are going to tune it then keep it. If not, stick with oem. The OEM manifold actually provides good low end torque

 

defs tuning it soon...prolly gonna roll with this for now till i can save up for a better one...skunk2?

blox and skunk2 are basically the same thing. unless you're talking about the skunk2 pro series.

friends b20 VTEC made 135kw with one on.

 

He already has a blox..that's not an OEM manifold pictured its a gsr head

 

Meant to say stay with the blox, not get one

 

My .02, 1st gen S2 IM are almost identical to the Blox IM, the only difference is in the casting. S2 has better casting than Blox.

 

Just for the record, and for picture reference, its a type r manifold. Shop switched my head with a pr3 head and didnt tell me.

it is a skunk2 gen 1 intake manifold.

That definitely looks like a skunk 2 1st gen.
I buddy has one on his civic.

Suprised how skunk 2 didnt put any partnumber on the manifold or anything to verify its skunk.

 

Um, it has a pr3 head and on The intake manifold it says p73
