my first Rally-cross this weekend... FUN!!
My friends and I attended our first ever rally-cross and it was a lot of fun, holy crap it was cool!! It didn't seem as competitive as autocross simply because the timing was not getting announced and I had no idea if I was doing "good" or not, but it didn't matter because I was laughing the whole way around the course. Our little 120hp Lancer did pretty well too, and had no problem swinging back-end around the track by just lifting the throttle or the occasional e-brake, haha. We placed 3rd, 4th and 5th in our class of 11 or 12 - my friend who had never rally-crossed or even autocrossed did the best of us, haha. Steady and consistent was the key, as they add up your runs and average them. All in all I give rally-cross a big

TEAM RENTAL CAR OWNZ JOO!!!
It was a blast rallying that car. I was impressed that the little Lancer held up. I guess it still has a little bit a rally heritage in there somewhere. LOL
We were going to make a big cardboard wing and write EVO 7 on it but we ran out of time.
Although rallying was a lot of fun, the most excitement of the day was seeing a Chevy Avalanche almost flip over but at the last second it laid backdown of four wheels. Let's just say that was the last run of the day for the Avalanche.

lol, looks like a blast! i wish i could find some events like that around here. i'd bust it out WRC style babeee!

I don't know if our SCCA club (NE-Okla) had done a Rally-X in recent years, this was the first one I knew about. Our chairman had been wanting to do one and found some farm land owned by a SCCA member or something and they went out and made a course. Talk to your local SCCA club, they might know of one nearby. I have to say, it was more fun then autocross for the pure "fun-factor"... though I never really knew if I was doing well, haha.
