Ebay (non-brand name) parts... Are they really worth it?
Are those non-brand name parts on ebay even worth the buy? I know they're not as quality as those brand name companies, but what are some parts that you can buy on ebay that actually don't make too much of a difference?
no they are not worth the buy... yes you can find decent no name parts on ebay but 9/10 your gonna find some crappy part that will prob do more harm than good
Why do people ask this question when they already know the answer? Buy the crap parts. You know you're going to anyway or you wouldn't have asked.

Intakes - The arms are the same as any aftermarket company and usually cheaper than them as well. The filters they come with just toss in the trash and buy a K&N.
Header - depends on the maker but I've had good luck with them in the past, no broken welds. Usually the weak link is the 4-2-1 header gasket always sucks and gets blown out.
Short shifter - hit or miss. The weak point on some of these is the threaded portion will break off. I've been using an ebay no name for a couple on years on my civic with no problems.
Catback Exhaust- never bought one but in a lot of peoples experience the fit is the weak link. So if you don't mind spending an extra couple of hundred in modifications go for it.
Turbo kits - stay away, Check out the link in grumbles sig: https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/complete-how-turbocharge-your-honda-rep-ing-hypnotik-speed-1263795/
That being said most of the items are just noise makers any how whether you buy the no name or the big name. If you're doing it for D series save the money for a swap or turbo kit.

I just wanted to know what kind of parts were okay with being bought off of ebay and installed. Like what HondaPartsHero, said, probably the only thing I'm getting on there are intake tubes or small little parts. Thanks for all the knowledge, and I'm probably not buying much for my D engine. I'll just save up for an H swap (:
The problem with ebay parts are the inconsistency of the quality. For some they work out perfect but for others they fall apart in a day. Good luck.
been running a full eBay turbo kit with an eBay 6 puck clutch on my GSR over a year now.
no problems whatsoever. i hit full boost and hit my rev limit daily. tuned by me.
pulls very nicely. i've had name-brand turbo setups and I don't see any difference.
